One of the best things I’ve had the pleasure of doing is to play games with my kids. Lately, it’s been Halo Infinite (and MCC but that’s another story) and man, is it fun. It was “Minecraft” previously but I cannot get into that game. There was that short stint with “Among Us” and now I think everyone is “sus”. Did I say that right?
Now, the middle kid has a handicap because she’s on an Xbox One X while the youngest is on a Series S and I’m on a Series X. I’ve messed with her Xbox once while on Halo Infinite and that 30fps cap almost makes it play like a different game. However, the middle keeps on poppin’, scoring some pretty impressive kills as we progress. I promised her that when I upgrade my Xbox Series X, I’ll give her my console. It is only fair, right?
It is usually with the youngest that I’m playing a lot of Halo though – the multiplayer element for both Infinite and MCC has been nothing short of a miracle – I remember fondly of doing 4 player matches with the original Halo and just killing each other all day and night. So these experiences with him are just as memorable, enjoyable.
We did play some of the Last Spartan Standing during the Season 2 launch and we were trying to play together as we partied together in voice chat. He even tried to make deals with me about how we don’t shoot each other until it’s just the two of us. I’m sure he didn’t realize just how hard it is to get to the top 4, let alone the heads up match.
I’m so happy that I get an opportunity to enjoy these moments with the kids.
